Sightseers on a luxury coach tour to Bath may wish to check out the stained glass windows of Bath Abbey after a new study looked at the origins of one of the glazed pieces.

BBC News recently reported that one of the windows at the attraction is an original William Burges.

It has now been moved from Bath Abbey to the Bath Aqua Theatre of Glass, where it is on display to the public.

Experts were brought in to look at the Victorian window after it appeared on the Antiques Roadshow TV programme, where it was valued at up to £40,000 if the correct paperwork could be found.

The specialists confirmed that the stained glass piece was indeed the work of Burges, a renowned English architect, designer and Gothic revival movement leader.

Born in 1827, he worked on a number of projects, including metalwork, jewellery and furniture, before his death in 1881.

Meanwhile, BBC News also reported that the Bath Chronicle has unearthed a number of its newspapers dating back more than 200 years.
