Those on a luxury mini coach tour to Bath may be forgiven for
thinking they are on some sort of urban safari this autumn.
The city is currently featuring a pride of life-sized lion
sculptures as part of a bid to raise cash for local charities,
Visit Bath revealed.
Each of the 100 sculptures is individually decorated and will be on
display until the end of October this year.
They are sponsored by businesses, individuals and community groups,
with proceeds going to worthwhile causes.
Artists and craftsmen have been asked to decorate the sculptures,
which has led to an attractive array of different designs.
As well as bringing in sponsorship money, the lions will be
auctioned off after the exhibition comes to an end in October,
meaning that visitors to the city could always bid on their
favourite to take a piece of Bath home with them.
Other attractions in the historic city include the Roman Baths,
which were built around the UK's only hot spring.
