The Cambridge Folk Festival has been praised by the Independent's arts correspondent Matilda Battersby.
The journalist visited the event over the weekend (July 31st and August 1st), enjoying the host of big names and breakthrough acts on show.
She particularly liked North Uist singer Julie Fowlis, who reportedly was one of the best-received performers of the weekend.
"Singing in Scottish Gaelic with a band of phenomenal musicians, it really didn't matter that nobody understood a word," Ms Battersby wrote.
The festival was described as "probably the UK's least pretentious", yet still featured renowned folk artists such as Seth Lakeman, Kris Kristofferson and Seasick Steve.
The newspaper also praised Lunasa, Jackie Oates, Megson, Dervish and The Muckle Loons.
Meanwhile, tourism in Cambridge, which is a popular location for luxury coach tours, could be set for a boost after plans were announced to redevelop the town's rail station.
As well as work on the transport hub itself, the development will improve the surrounding buildings and area.
