Brits on a luxury mini coach tour to Oxford may be interested in
visiting a long-term exhibition during their stay.
The Winston Churchill Oxfordshire Hussar 1901 - 1965 display has
been entertaining visitors to the Oxfordshire Museum since
September 2009.
It has now entered its last month of operation and will accept its
final member of the public on September 1st.
The exhibition looks at the life of the former prime minister
before he won the top job.
Featuring new material, it examines his time as "an enthusiastic
amateur", Visit Oxford revealed.
Visitors will also learn more about Churchill's relationship with
the county and the Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars.
It covers his service in the Territorial Army and work during the
two world wars, with information on the state funeral he received
following his death in the 1960s.
Meanwhile, Oxford is celebrating the 900th anniversary of the
inception of a royal park at Woodstock with a programme of special
events, which runs throughout the year.
