About Cambridge:
Cambridge is home to the famous University, carols in King's College Chapel and punting on the river Cam. Cambridge is a compact cosmopolitan city with outstanding architecture, both old and new. The beauty of its ancient centre is preserved with its walkable medieval streets, college courts, gardens and bridges.

Cambridge is a great place to visit in any season, with many pubs, restaurants & Café’s to grab lunch in and plenty of shops around the historic market place.

Cambridge has profoundly shaped the world we live in, and there’s a real sense of living history almost everywhere you look. The University and its 31 colleges dominate the centre with atmospheric cobbled courts, chapels, gardens and bridges, but Cambridge is no museum piece - dramatic modern architecture sits side by side with the traditional, and lovers of architecture will find much to admire.

About the River Cam
The River Cam is a tributary of the River Great Ouse in the east of England. The two rivers join to the south of Ely at Pope's Corner. The total distance from Cambridge to the sea is about 40 miles (64 km).
In earlier times the Cam was named the Granta, but after the name of the Anglo-Saxon town of Grantebrycge had been modified to Cambridge, the river was renamed to match. It has no connection with the much smaller River Cam in Gloucestershire.

How about a Punt?
Why not during your free time head down for a stroll along the River Cam and hire a punt, the most popular form of boating on the stretch of the river between Jesus Lock & Grantchester.

Trinity College
Trinity is the college of Sir Isaac Newton, who had rooms between the chapel and gatehouse, in the 17th century. Here you can see an apple tree, a descendant of Newton’s tree in Lincolnshire, which inspired his work on gravity.
The college library was designed by Christopher Wren, it is said to be his finest work outside of London.

Trinity College is the wealthiest college in Cambridge, founded by Henry VIII towards the end of his life.

The Great Court was designed by former Master Thomas Neville, & is the largest in Oxbridge.

The college library was designed by Christopher Wren and completed by 1690. It holds Newton’s Principia Mathematica, along with a lock of his hair. Also on display is the modern manuscript of Winnie the Pooh, written by A.A Milne, his son Christopher Robin also studied at the college. The Wren Library is open to the public.

St Mary Magdalene This former Leper Chapel is one of the finest & most complete examples of Norman architecture in Cambridgeshire.
