About Lille
Lille is a city in northern France. It is the principal city of the Lille Métropole, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the country behind those of Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
Lille is situated on the Deûle River near France's border with Belgium. It is the capital of the Nord-Pas de Calais region and the préfecture of the Nord department.
Lille's Fine Arts Museum (Musée des beaux-arts) is the second largest in France, after the Louvre.
Lille can be described as having a temperate oceanic climate; there are neither cold nor hot extremes, and average parcipitation. The winters are mild and the summers are pleasant.
